Matthew's story

Matthew Geddes is an Audit Manager in our Wellington office.

Matthew has made the most of New Zealand's easy access to the Pacific Islands."I joined Audit New Zealand as a Senior Auditor in 2013, and was promoted to Assistant Manager in 2014. I’ve found Audit New Zealand to have a supportive and welcoming culture. People are always open to listening to your ideas and it’s an organisation where you can make a difference. The diversity of clients make the job different, ever changing and challenging.

"I work out of the Wellington office. Wellington is a beautiful city to live in. It has an exciting and vibrant centre with lots of great cafes, bars, shops, and attractions to visit. Yet within 15 minutes of the centre are beautiful coastal walks and treks with stunning views. It’s great to live in a city which has such easy access to nature.

"I’ve done lots of travelling since I’ve been in New Zealand. I’ve done several road trips across both the North and South Islands. Highlights have included visiting the Abel Tasman National Park, walking on Franz Josef Glacier, blackwater rafting through the Waitomo caves, and seeing penguins and sea lions up close on the Catlins coast. I’ve also visited other countries in the region, including several trips to Australia and a relaxing break in Tonga.

Matthew has walked the Franz Josef Glacier. "I enjoy the beautiful scenery, and the opportunity to do exciting and different things and visit new places. The people are very friendly. I’ve met some amazing people at Audit New Zealand who have helped and supported me to grow in my career. I’ve also made some fantastic friends through Audit New Zealand."
