Dieter was appointed to lead ISAA after a number of roles at Audit New Zealand, the first in 2008 as an Assistant Manager.
Shortly after a promotion to Manager, Dieter took the opportunity to gain experience in internal audit at New Zealand Post Limited. In 2012, he returned to Audit New Zealand as an ISAA manager in our Auckland office.
Before moving to New Zealand, Dieter qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in Cape Town, started his career in Information Systems (IS) auditing at PwC, and worked in internal audit.
Dieter is responsible for leading the team that delivers information systems assurance support to Audit New Zealand clients with large or complex information technology (IT) environments. He has experience with IT general controls, identifying and testing automated application controls, and performing data analysis in support of the audit.
Dieter is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and a qualified Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) through ISACA (the Information Systems Audit and Control Association).
