Jason joined our tax division in 1994 and was promoted to Tax Director in 2002. Before that, he worked for seven years in the private sector, including four years with Touche Ross in Wellington.
Jason develops our tax audit approaches in relation to income tax and other taxes, provides technical support for our audit teams, and provides training to staff on tax matters. He has a comprehensive understanding of the tax risks and issues affecting the public sector, and an in-depth knowledge of accounting for income tax.
In 2024, Jason’s responsibilities were expanded to also cover independence and risk. This includes matters such as employee independence, conflict mitigation, and professional risk.
