2014 information updates for central government entities
Nearly 500 representatives of Government Departments and Crown Entities attended Audit New Zealand’s information updates on 28 and 29 April, 2014 at Te Papa.

Iain Rennie, State Services Commissioner, talked about Better Public Services and leadership. While acknowledging that New Zealand’s public sector has a good reputation for performance and transparency, Iain talked about how the public sector can become great. This included the need for partnership across the whole public sector and how leadership is the single biggest determinant. Al Morrison, Deputy Commissioner, State Sector Reform, presented in Iain's place on the second day. |

Lyn Provost, Controller and Auditor-General, presented on her work plan theme of Our future needs - Is the public sector ready?and some lessons from the Inquiry into the Mangawhai community wastewater scheme that are relevant to central government as well as local government.
