Carl took up his role as Audit Director on 16 May 2019. He began his career in the Performance Audit business unit of the Auditor-General of South Africa and, after qualifying, worked on performance audits and investigations in the public sector. In May 2008, Carl was appointed as Senior Manager in a newly established business unit that audits government entities. His clients included national departments, and a large variety of public entities, regulators, and constitutional institutions.
He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).
Carl’s portfolio includes:
- local government and their subsidiaries;
- district health boards;
- Crown entities.
